Wow, wat much and great compliments i get, thank you Lara's Soul; I would like to add a new outfit for Lara but it is very difficult to use one. I have an outfit from tr2 from the snow levels. But Lara will also go into the sanctuary of fire and it woud not fit. Therefore i must have an regular outfit that match all type of levels in my adventure. I have not found it yet. Another thing, i used the Karnak wad to start all wads. Therefore the skin joints can not be replaced because of the sixshooter animation that depends on it. IP: Logged |

Desipte what Verner says, Id have to say that your are the best TR Level creator out there, your levels are Core-Design quality and they are always fun to play. Keep up the good work Piega, The Number 1 Level Editor!IP: Logged |

I'm in agreement with Verner on this one but not totally for the same reasons. The cemetery outside the first pic doesn't fit the building and the gold pots in the second screen don't suit the theme. Although the lighting is well done. IP: Logged |

To be perfectly honest, the sand outside the building in the first shot really doesn't seem to fit, and the horizon (I think) could be grayer. And in the second shot, the gold pots stand out like a sore thumb, detracting from what has to be (no! is, without question) the best building I've ever seen in a custom level. The inside of the cathedral (?) is a masterpiece - it looks like something Core would come up with. Good luck with the last three levels!IP: Logged |

Well I still think it's incredible, the snow fits perfectly, especially with the choice of lighting. The gold pots are flashy, but the windows are what grab my attention All that needs to be done is to darken the pots.[This message has been edited by just/n (edited 02-16-2002).] IP: Logged |

I completely agree! That's why he uses Core Design textures and objects without doing anything by himself! It is to reach their quality! Good applications of Core Design work! Well, I mean good application of some other professionist's work BTW, an architectural suggestion: when you use textures which imitate decorations, (for example in the walls) it is more appealing and "correct" to use a "not so decotated material" for the floors and the ceiling... or viceversa, sure... It is because two "heavy themes" of textures fight one each other... Well, you can chose among more than 1000 official textures, I think it is easy to find your way in this sense... IP: Logged |

well psiko, not everyone has the possibilities or the talent for designing custom objects, textures or anything like that. I think, it is not fair if you rate (as said at michaels forum) a level built without any custom things not higher as a 4. You play levels to have fun, and fun consists mostly of gameplay and not if all the things are custom ore not. If they are selfmade and look good, great! If they are selfmade and look not so good, it isnīt that bad. Youīve tried it and the next time youīll use core designs objects again. Levels made with the wads from the le CD can be as good as levels built only with own objects like you COTW. Remember that! If piega wants to use cores textures (like almost all level authors), then I think itīs the right decision , but not a reason to rate a level no higher as 4 (I know, this post is more an answer to a post at mprager.de than an answer at this topic, but I think, itīs the right topic to post such things ) cu danielIP: Logged |

Piega, some thoughts about your "Ice" level screens--- & the comments it generated...first off- Verner, take a flying f*** - where are Your great levels to be seen? (i thought so...) secondly, you were sermonized to by a gentleman about "mixing heavy textures" with viewer *focal point* graphics... i say, your screenshots prove to me he's -wrong- in his assumption; perhaps he's still thinking of his own level projects? keep doing what you're doing, it looks good to me-- Vagrant IP: Logged |

@ Daniel, you are mixing two things: that was done to prove that that system was really easy to crack, and infact those fake reviews were taken easily away. So until now, I haven't reviewed anything, expecially 4/10.Then about what I said here: after more than an year those levels he presented here are going to be his 10th level (or I don't know which number). I think that after an year of his building levels, he is simply showing three columns with a glass. The rest is not his. I am not talking about what I do, and people are trying to do a debate. Instead, if we want to do a clever discussion, I think that after an year, an internation LD like piega (like it was said by someone else ) should try to wait and stay quiet for a month without doing levels and to learn a little bit of Photoshop. That is NOT hard. How can you combine the sentence: "you are the 1st LD in the world" and this other one: "not all are able to build their custom textures"? Are you saying that a "not able" is the first in the world after more than an year in building levels? If we want to make a clever discussion to how improve (even with ugly textures in the beginning) our levels, I am available. As I said to private emails to piega, I was (and I still am), available to build a new Lara to him, and in our Italian forum I am giving some good tips on how to use Photoshop. If I was that bad like some of you think, I could build my levels without doing anything and showing such a care. So, if people are "not able" like you say, Daniel, they can simply ask, because, maybe I am able to use Photoshop (and maybe not that talented while using it, for some of you) but I can help talented people to go over the technical stuff, and this is what I am already doing in our Italian forum like here: http://www.videogame.it/forum/ubb/Forum8/HTML/000451.html Then I can be very hafetul in the way I use to talk and give suggestions, but I don't think I am that wrong. About the architectural suggestion I gave before, if you use classical ambientations, you should use classical ideas and themes for the composition, or you get confusing things like putting gothic, celthic, roman, greek, medieval textures in the same room. If you are thinking about what I build, I build with contemporary ideas of composition which are NOT for the decorations but for different materials used for different volumes of spaces. his is why often in my work you see completely "fighting themes" in two next perpendicular walls. This is a "modern" way of considering the composition. And then I actually invented the "technorganic style". Instead than to "judge" how I say my suggestions, I hope all of you will start to ask why I say them, and "what is the solution" I suggest, instead to close topic like this happened in other forums. (And as that topic was closed before anyone asked me "psiko, at least, what you suggest for a better rating?", I explained all my ideas -I was going to tell Michael- to another site and they liked them such in a way that they decided to realize them really happily). Well I for one am impressed people like Piega can create such levels using "basic" objects/textures. It's something I can't seem to do [This message has been edited by just/n (edited 02-16-2002).] IP: Logged |
