I use TR2Wad to ouput wad from Andrea level to get the GoldRose, but can't open it with TRWest (Illegal operation!). With WadMerger, I open the Andrea level directly but when I click on the GoldRose item, I get: "Runtime error 91 Object variable not set"
Is this GoldRose a forbidden item? Or what should I do to get it? Please tell.

I'll tell you how I'm doing it, and hope this works for you. I extract the needed wad, rename it to for example karnak. Then I can load it in reference with no problem in TRwest, and select the item, whatever I need, select the pickup1(I use this for the goldrose) and press replace, and it works.

You can also use Strpix 3 to save the rose mesh as a DXF file and then load the DXF into the mesh for a pickup item in your WAD .
