And there: Secrets Beneath The Streets officially out of memory. The memory ran out in the Cave Of The Crystal Rock part. So now I need to know how to split my level and make it work correctly (item exchange between the levels and Lara start pos etc). Can someone please explain for me how to split a level correctly? I'd really appreciate that. ------------------ Coming soon - Discussion Domain - a whole new community... IP: Logged |

Read this thread from the old forum. Everything is written there, if you don't understand something, ask. The old sorums should open, I think you just can't reply there IP: Logged |

I've got two problems:
- The direction of Lara at start of the second splitted level is not what I want. How do I cahnge it? Is it the big side of the LARA_START_POS triangle that points in the direction Lara will point at?
- The jump to the second level works well, but when jumping back to the first, the game crashes to desktop. I've entered the correct level number in the FINISH trigger TCB. What now?

OK hteS Yes, big side is where Lara faces. In the first level, place the LSP (start possition) and type in "1" in its OCB. Now make a finish trigger nearby, and make it finish to level 2 with "1" in the timer window of the trigger. In level 2 place the LSP and type in "1" in its OCB. Place a finish trigger nearby to level 1 with "1" in its timer window. Now you should be able to jump both levels back and forth. I work with these all the time, in fact I've found that you can't have more than 5 of them in a single level (Atlantis III had 5) IP: Logged |

Thanks Justin, but it still doesn't work. It doesn't even load; directly after I touch the finish trigger the game crashes to desktop. ------------------ Coming soon - Discussion Domain - a whole new community... IP: Logged |

There's only one thing I think there can be. Besides the finish trigger there must be the number of the level you ant to jump to. If it is a number, of a level, that doesn't exist, it chrashes to desktop. The level counting starts with 1 not with 0 as usually in LE. If your second level finish trigger has other number than 1 besides it, the game might chrash, or you can end up in a black nothing.IP: Logged |

Well I have 2 in the finish trigger in the 1st level and 1 in the finish trigger in the 2nd level. It should work. Maybe it's 'cause I had to import other animations when importing Tommy's jacket outfit...------------------ Coming soon - Discussion Domain - a whole new community... IP: Logged |

The items, animations should be no problem, if you use the same wad for both of your level parts. Custom outfits have corrupted some projects I've been working on, but I never had problems with aby TTR's I've downloaded.IP: Logged |

Well I can't use the same WAD since the .TOM has to be the same as the WAD. And I can't save two levels into one .TOM. So I'm using two WADs of the same kind named palace and palace2. They are exact the same, except for that they have different names.------------------ Coming soon - Discussion Domain - a whole new community... The names are not important, it's what inside the wad that counts!(sounds a little pathetic, hehe) I meant if the wads are identic, the problem couldn't be with any of the objects.IP: Logged |

OK. The reason can be descriebed with three words:LOAD CAMERA POSITION!!! I'll try and change it and see if it works then. ------------------ Coming soon - Discussion Domain - a whole new community... IP: Logged |

Yes yes yes yes YESSSSSS!!!!!! It WAS the load camera position. Thanks eTux and Justin for helping me.But, how do I make items I've picked up to stay in the inventory between the levels? I picked up an EXAMINE1 in the 2nd level, then I went back to the 1st level and the item wasn't in the inventory. Then I went to the 2nd level again, and it wasn't in the inventory. And it wasn't on the floor where I picked it up either. What now? ------------------ Coming soon - Discussion Domain - a whole new community... IP: Logged |

That's strange, if the wads ar identical, with exception of the names, there should be no problem. Check if the examine is added in the script of both levels.IP: Logged |

The script blocks are also identical, except for that there's no mirror in the 2nd level.------------------ Coming soon - Discussion Domain - a whole new community... IP: Logged |

Try to add the examine to both wads again, and then test it. Sorry but I can't think o anything else [This message has been edited by eTux (edited 02-17-2002).] IP: Logged |

Somehow the music scroll stays in the inventory between the levels, but not the map. ------------------ Coming soon - Discussion Domain - a whole new community... IP: Logged |

Hmm that's generally bad It's in the slot "Examine_1" right? Hmm, I don't know what can be done, I think the examine might not have been intended to cross through levels. IP: Logged |
