5. More thorough Manual; 6. CutScene Editor; 7. A list of all OCB codes included; 8. Animation Editor; 9. More flexible script.txt and english.txt; 10. Less limits (like max 255 objects and 255 rooms, etc.); ------------------ Oleg[This message has been edited by Astakhov Oleg (edited 02-16-2002).] IP: Logged |

uhhh think please.Next Gen uses a completely different engine, so also a completely different LE. You can't ask for included WAD tools because probably it won't even use the 'wad-systym' TRLE uses now. It also will not have the OCB codes thingy. No script.txt /english.txt. Did you think they would use the same crappy limits like in the older games? you can't realize Paris with 255 objects dude. None of those 'wishes' are realistic... IP: Logged |

Harsh. It was said that the new level editor uses Maya and thats costly for the avg user to get a hold of. Also everything is completely different in this one. It could happen but execpt a water down version like the trle so far.------------------ Cyprus Studios IP: Logged |

if they ever release it, I will suggest an import/export feature or plug-in for 3Dsmax.We will be able to put textures, create locations, animate enemies and all with the 3dsmax and with this plug-in simply import this in their "new editor". IP: Logged |

Stop teaching us, smarty. quote: Originally posted by Bart!: Next Gen uses a completely different engine, so also a completely different LE. You can't ask for included WAD tools because probably it won't even use the 'wad-systym' TRLE uses now.
That's true (that the LE will be completely different) but that doesn't mean it won't have the same system. Moreover, I think the system will be the same. quote: Originally posted by Bart!: It also will not have the OCB codes thingy. No script.txt /english.txt.
Maybe, but anyway they have got to keep that information somewhere and these files are just the best place for it. And OCB codes are convinient so I think it will have the OCB codes. quote: Originally posted by Bart!: Did you think they would use the same crappy limits like in the older games?
YES! Everythig has limits and new game engine doesn't free the LE from the these limits!!! quote: Originally posted by Bart!: you can't realize Paris with 255 objects dude.
Maybe this time it will be 512 max. And what is so special about Paris that it can't have less than 255 objects, huh? quote: Originally posted by Bart!: None of those 'wishes' are realistic...
You do nothing but judge. Offer some realistic ones instead. All in all, of course the LE will be different, but, if the game has cutscenes then it means there's a cutscene editor, if the game has animations (and it definately has) so it means that there's an animation editor. This all means that there will be simply a different program (LE) written from scratch but it will obviously have all the funcions this LE has and we want these functions to be expanded (I guess you don't). P.S. I'm not a dude to you. P.P.S. Read this thread again: 000184.html ------------------ Oleg [This message has been edited by Astakhov Oleg (edited 02-17-2002).] IP: Logged |

Like Bart said, there is a completely different engine like in TR1 - TR5. And I don't think that core use WADs for objects.I better want an engineupdate for TR4 LE. -we already know to use it, and I don'T want to learn how to use the new TRle. I emailed coredesign some days ago, and they DON'T know anything from a TRNG-LE. TRNG isn't finish now, so they told me to email them nearer the Release of TRNG, then they will disscus what they shoult release included with TRNG. so don't think about a new LE now. It has been reported that Core Design may decide it is good business sense to release a level editor with the game as this would increase their overall revenue, however a final decision as to what this editor will include has not been finalised at this time. It has also been stated that a game version of 'Maya' may well be available at the same time, however it would be prudent to wait until the release time to ascertain the complete release prospectus.Data.
