Who can tell me how to make oscillating flames, or flames which temporarily turn off if you use a switch, or even permanantly turn off?

I am only aware of using an antrigger to achieve this, however it may be possible to use a swinging object like the Axe which covers two tiles to have one, 'heavy trigger' a flame and the other, to 'heavy antitrigger' the flame.
Unless anyone has a better solution, this is all I can help.

My opinion is to do a flipmap, so when u press the switch the flame goes out and when you press the switch again it goes on and so on. i think that might work but i havn't tried this

Turning them off temporary is easy,

Select the flame (s) you want to turn of, press "o" to bring up the ocb menu for flame emitter, press all 5 bits button ( they must be black )

This will trigger the flame without it has to be triggered. Now if you put a switch trigger and under it the trigger for the flame, THis trigger will become a anti trigger,

Set the timer of the switch trigger to 10 for example. Now test it,

Ingame the flame is on, you flip the switch and the flame goes out for the period of time you entered. Then it goes on again
