I'm trying to build a custom tga file using textedit, mostly from catacomb.
The manual says not to go over the amount in the original file.
When I open the cattext.tga file in textedit, it is about 127 tiles, and I can only add 1 more tile to it.
Yet in the TR editor, it looks like it's only 3/4 full.

I've created one from scratch that uses some from several different tga's. Should I keep it to 127 tiles?
When I add the water tiles, will the animation ranges still work?
Manual says something about "out of memory" error. Does this pop up when you load a too big tga file, or try to add the textures?
TIA

Actually, the manual says alot of things but not always all of them are true.

I am using Texture Edit.exe, thats how tis atleast called in my folder ( didnt changed name )

The thing is better then a old texture edit i had, cause the otherone says "Arg list too big" when passing the ammount of original textures. So i use this one,

What i do is, load a texture set, any kind, now i can controll the ammount of rows vertically, i usually use 34 rows, 34x4..lets see 136 if i am correct , no problems.

Using more then 127 texutres wont harm, but also dont over do this, dont jam 200 textures or soemthing. I advise to save your work and back it up before making a attempt.

And the water annimation range will still work, you only have to set it up in the editor.
