I just copy a room or a portion of a room.

Try to save it after you copy the last room. Use a differend filename and close roomedit. Restart it and open the project again. It worked for me, but on my new pc I don't need this anymore. It doesn't crash with this.

When I construct a level, I select the first room and then only use copies of that and subsequent rooms unless I need a larger room.

If you do it this way, you will find it possible to reach the 255 room limit.

Another advantage to doing it this way, is that the ambience you set in the first room is automatically set for the copied rooms.

You have to hold at least a room "empty" in the menu select room, otherwise if clic select room and you have ended the empty rooms the program returns to the desktop.
Then if you find yourself in that situation it tries to eliminate a room already built so that to get back at least one "empty" in select room and make one or more copies so that the program gives you other 100 rooms.
