Why should we use maya if it supports a format that it won't be able to insert items to our games? is there any program to convert the maya format to a "classic" format like .3ds or .max or sth else?

I think a plugin for maya will be made available to coincide with the next gen level editor to use the format that the editor will use but I don't know of any plugin that will convert to the formats you suggest. I'm not saying they're not available but I havn't seen any yet, perhaps sending an email to Alias Wavefront might be your best option.
