has anyone done or attempted to recreate TR (the origanal) in the newer smoother looking engine with the new TR editor? if so could you point me in the right derection. I thought someone would have done this by now. Isn't there a way to extract the first lvl's from TR1 and import them into the editor? if this was done it'd be a peice of cake then just ad a few polygons to some serficase us even just leave it as is with the nicely curved Lara, with 3d video saport. Also haveing the origanal textures within the enviorment would be really spiffy. Hope some one has done this or atleast will. : ) keep up the editing guys!

I think King Spider started to recreate the original TR, so you're not the first one with the idea , As long as I know, the caves are allready made, he's working on the further levels.

You can check out KyngSpyders progress on his TR1 conversion here:
http://home.bwave.com/kingspyder/trcp/index.html

There is a tool that lets you convert TR levels into projects ,which you can then load up into the editor and then it's a case of putting the objects in....i think you have to redo the textures as well....i'm not too sure.....Anyway i think the tool is TRPRJ , i'll used it a while ago ...i'll search around and see if that's right.

As skibsy said, I've got the first level ("The Caves") nearly complete. The only thing lacking is the bear. I also noticed a bug recently that I need to fix. I left out a very important null mesh in the last version and as a result, the darts don't damage Lara . I've also got a beta version of the second level up (The City of Vicabamba), with a new version comming real soon. As eTux said, it's not totally identical, but it *is* as close as I can get without changing anything.

Also, skibsy is right when he said you'd have to re-texture and add objects with TR2PRJ converted levels. You may also have to fix some other things that may go wrong in the conversion. Anyway, it is a great tool and I highly recommend it.

Finally, just to clarify, I'm no long on my own with the TR1 conversion project. Treeble has been helping out for some time now and is nearly done with the first version of "The Tomb of Qualopec" (the fourth level, for those who are counting ).

Oh, and eTux. My name's spelt with a "y" .
