Hi!

My machine came back from the repair shop.
As I told you, after the dmnd lightning, I had to buy new motherboard, processor, modem, etc...

The machine is ok, much better than before.

But I`m having serious problems with my (old) Voodoo 2 CE card (I`m keeping the card just because of the possibility to run TR1 under 3DFX). It`s complaining about glide things and TRC is having trouble with direct X...

I hope to solve it soon...

If you have any suggestions..................

hello, for 3dfx cards, go to www.GLsetup.com
for automatic diagnosis/repairing of
lost .dll ,files for 3dfx cards.

can't remember the exact URL, so do a
"word search" on a ... GliDOS program ;
(a program for running TR1 in OpenGL rendering. they have a Web Site & it
IS Good! this site has a Major "3dfx
Guru" who makes patches for all versions
of these cards...

Fabio, sorry here is GliDOS, bookmark it
(maybe you already know it but..) it has
a link to the "3dfx TR1 guru" i talk of..
http://www.glidos.net/

Win 2000 & Me users can benefit from
GliDOS; they have no other way to play
TR1 in the original(3dfx) beauty of
this classic game.now they do.

I kept my 3dfx card. Computers are a
"dime a dozen"; commonplace.

to play TombRaider in original 3dfx --
Is Not!

Piega, GliDOS, yes--i can't seem to get
it to function properly either; so i use a Voodoo card for TombRaider(on another
PC)they're cheap; like buying a *clock radio*.

i've put over a yr into building TR1
Villa Mortal II level; few will have the
gear to play it-like the 3dfx technology
of 1996 displays it. I'm not worried,
I rather like making these games...
later, Fairchild

Ok, hereīs the problem...

Iīm running Windows 98 SE.
My video card is an old Trident, which works with the Voodoo 2 CE acc card. These two boards were working fine with my old PC (Pentium II 300 mHz), which was hit by the lighning and past away.
The new machine is an Athlon 1100 mHz with a Gygabyte motherboard.
When I try to install the Voodoo, it all seems to run ok, as the board appears fine in the device manager. It also appears in the Display Properties with its control panel running fine. (sometimes it does not, even with the board showing fine in the device manager andthe driver installed). Iīve tried the latest drivers but nothing seems to solve the problem. When I run TR, I only get the Trident option as device for video. The voodoo is not there. I donīt think the Voodoo is with some hardware malfunction because my monitor is directly connected to it and all video is ok... As you may know, the voodoo 2 works with the standard video card, in conjunction with it.

I donīt know if this is a Windows problem, so Iīm going to format the HD and start over again...

If it fails, I have a friend who can give me a Stealth video card... Wonder if I will be able to run TR1 in accelerated mode with it... The only reason I keep the Voodoo until now is TR1 under 3DFX!!!

I WANT TO BE BACK BUILDING LEVELS!!!
