Does anyone know how to make foggy light? Like in the tomb of seth when the guy is putting fire in the water, the whole room lights up red and it is foggy. How do I do that.

While I am here, I do not understand the manual for water. How do I make water?

is there any other cool effects I can do with the editor?

Take a look a page 68 of the manual and you'll find it under the heading 'Fog bulb'; you need to use flip effect 28 in conjuction with the fog bulb. It also states that if you look at room 30 in 'Tomb of Seth' it shows how it's triggered by a flyby camera.

To make a water room, just select the 'w' tab (you'll find it just under the 2d map in the middle left of the screen) and change the number it display's to the right 1-4, 4 being the most turbulent. Make sure you've selected the room that you need the water in. Also select the 'R' button for the reflection in the room above the water room.

To change the colour of the fog you simply one of a selection of values in the 'TIMER' field of the trigger; for more info there is a table on page 97 of the manual, in the reference section.
REMEMBER - you cannot use a trigger for the fog bulb, you must set a trigger for 'flipeffect' and enter '28' in the set trigger type window. Oh, and make sure you have 'volumetric effects' turned on in your set up Tomb Raider menu.
By the by, I have never got the fog bulbs to work very well, when I use them they just completely fill the screen and I can't see Lara....if you have more luck let me know.
Hope this helps!

You can change the density of fog bulbs the same way you do with ordinary bulbs.

However, be aware that real fog would be quite thick so if you would like a very fine fog there is another way of achieving this.

Change the contrast on all textures that appear in the 'fog' area, this gives a very faint fog effect without using the bulbs (of course, do not change the contrast on any 'pink'(transparent) areas of your textures.

In order for you to change the contrast you will need an art application like Photoshop or Paint shop pro.
You can also use a freeware application called Irfanview (I believe it is named after the person who created it).

You can get that here:
http://irfanview.com

In Irfanview, just click on 'Image' and then select 'Enhance colours' and then adjust the contrast bar untill the image looks slightly cloudy. If you have any see through textures (these contain pink areas), you will have to remove them first.
If you would like me to do this for you I would be quite happy to, however make sure you keep a backup of your original.

Take a look at some of the original maps that come with the level editor to see how these things are done.

To apply water textures, click on the portal in the 2d map. When the portal is highlighted select toggle occupatacy 2 (allows lara to pass through, not to be confused with toggle occupatacy, which will 'block' lara from passing) Now clcik face edit and double sided (to make the texture viewable from both sides of the door) and apply the water texture.
