You dont open the Raw file,

Open the UKlogo.bmp, edit it, then save it. Then copy the file and rename it to Uklogo.raw, then use the dos command to convert both into Uklogo.pak, put that one in your trle/data directory and voila

ok...

1- Open Uklogo.bmp located in your Trle/Logo directory

2- edit it the way you like then save the bmp ( overwrite it, do not save as )

3- Copy the bmp file 2 times so you get Uklogo.bmp CopyofUklogo.bmp ( thats how windows names the 2nd copied file )

4- Rename the copied one from CopyofUklogo.bmp >>> Uklogo.raw

5- Select both files ( bmp+raw) and drag them on Packer.exe ( easier then going trough dos commands.

6- A file named Uklogo.pak will be created, put that one in your Trle/Data directory

That was clear i hope..

I have some problems......

1. I copied the uklogo.bmp file and rename it. But what came out is uklogo.bmp.raw !!!??? How could this be??

2. Anyway I just followed what ypu told in step 5. Copy uklogo.pak and move it to data folder. But when I run tomb4.exe, it crashes.

3. Taken from the logo manual : Create a bitmap 512x256 16bit.
Save the bitmap as a .raw file RGB Interleaved ie RGB RGB RGB (Filesize will be 384k) Filesize will be 384k?????? but my file is just 120 +!!!????

Can sombody explain this???

I'm afraid the way Yasin explained it is slighty incorrect

you don't rename a bitmap to a .raw file, because then it will just have a different extension, while it is still in the bitmap format

you have to open the bitmap in PSP and save it as a RAW FORMAT
go to file > save as and in the filetype dropdownbox, scroll to "RAW format" (or something similar, I don't have PSP installed now)

once it's saved as the right format, you can use the logo converter to convert the .raw file into a .pak file and then you put it in the Data folder

If you can't have what you want,
you have to want what you have!

I'm using PSP5, but I doubt this has changed much.
When you open the raw file, you have to tell PSP the size, so make sure you tell it 512 width and 256 height. Also tell it RGB interleaved, with the order RGB. Make sure the header size is 0 bytes.
When you save the file, use Save As, and make sure you select raw. Then there shoud be a button, something like Details. Click that so you can make sure you set interleaved, RGB order.
Try making it 24-bit instead of 16.

Well thanks guys but my game still crashes.

So I use my own way using psp7.

I open uklogo.bmp, edit it and save as raw.

I don't close the window. Instead I change the color depht to 16 bit and oxerwrite the raw. file and I get a 384 kb file!!!!

Then I drag just uklogo.raw to packer.exe, copy uklogo.pak to data and viola !!! My tr game doesn't crash anymore!!!

My only problem know is the logo looks kind of green. Know how to fix it ???

What was the size of the *.raw file before you changed it to 16-bits?

According to PSP6, mine is 24-bits and is also 385k. It converts and works with the game just fine as well.

Anyway, just thought this might have something to do with your "green" problem.

Like I said, make it 24 bit.
When I open the original uklogo.raw in PSP5, I have to make it 24 bit, then it loads fine.
The manual is not always right.

Thank you guys for all of your help!!!!!!
Now my uklogo works fine (and I added my pic for a trial)....
Here are the steps I used in creating it....

1. First open the uklogo.bmp, edit it the way you like and save it in 24 bit .bmp format. If you're making a new one, make it 512x256 and save it in 24-bit .bmp format.

2. Use your program (e.g. Paint Shop Pro) to open the uklogo.bmp and then save it in raw format (RGB Interleaved ie RGB RGB RGB, if you are using PSP, make sure the header is 0 using the options button).

3. If you wan't to view the raw file in PSP or other program, make sure the size is correct (512x256, the header is 0 , select interleaved, order RGB and RGB colour channel.

4. Go to the logo folder, click and drag the uklogo.raw over to packer.exe and a uklogo.pak will be created.

5. Copy the uklogo.pak to data folder and run tr4.exe and you’ll be smilling like me........

Well this sounds silly, I still have troubles....!!!!!
At first if you remembered, I wrote that I have problems viewing it in PSP. I said it look like TV during a storm.
Well...now I have no trouble viewing it in PSP, but when I replace the uklogo.pak (I've made a new one) and run tr4.exe, now it looks like Tv during a storm IN GAME !!!!
Can someone explain this please, maybe the header or what I've made wrong??????

Well nobody answered me.....

But I've found the solution..!!!!!

Well, my mistake is that I've made the size slightly incorrect. 516x256.

After I realized my mistake I resized it to 512x256 and yaaaaaaa.....it's working !!!!
