For my final japan level, I want the game to go out in style, remember in CTHD Jen jumps off the bridge into the mist? I want to recreate that scene, and have CTHD music playing while she falls, I'll need some help on how to make it look good, as the mist, and fog bulbs I've tried look really bad. The level so far is incredibly detailed, and lara has to find 5 mystic plaques then jump off the bridge into the mist. I want to have a cutscene as soon as lara falls, and make the cameras go into the mist, but I don't know how to make it look real. Plus, the cutscene wouldn't last long if lara were to just do a swan dive off a mountain, cuz she would sie right? Help please!!!------------------ Creator of professional levels (: jokami63@aol.com new to the level editor? want new wads, tgas, or sounds? bored with the level editor? do any of these above questions interest you? if so send $5 to jokami63@aol.com lol :) IP: Logged |

Interesting idea. It could be made to last a little while, and she doesn't have to die. But she will definitely scream, and that might ruin the effect. Make sure when she dives off that the room she is in is at the top of the allowed world. Make the ceiling be at 127. You could make the floor at -128, but stacked rooms will give better texturing, so stack alot of them, and make sure the bottom room has the floor at -128. This gives a total height of 256 clicks, or about 384 feet (scale equivalent). With several stacked rooms, all the same size, you should be able to put a fog bulb in each one, and turn up the density so it fills the room. When she jumps off, it should take awhile to fall that far. To stop her from dying, somewhere near the lowest room, put a finish trigger on the entire floor. It can take you to a new level or back to the title.Hmmm, I'm getting an idea...

but if i put the finish trigger on the floor wouldnt it trigger it rite away when she jumped? those are really good ideas though, but ill have to change all my rooms to raise the elevation to 128, but its doable, i guess. thanx for the help, and verios i will soon post screenshots when i get it looking better, but ill have to email them 2u cuz i dont have a site. what should i set the fog bulbs at for RGB settings? Well, it's a good level for the mountains anyway, i can have a big climb. do a pad trigger for the finish trigger Then when lara hits the floor it will finish. even when lara jumps over the trigger it will not trigger the finish, Only when she steps on the square.IP: Logged |

But then you still have the scream, and a crunch just before the level ends...Add a camera at the top so she fades away down, perhaps? IP: Logged |

Make a delay trigger perhaps? That is, trigger a rollingball in a room, Lara can't get to, and make a long slope, and experiment, after how many seconds does the rollingball come to the bottom. at the bottom create a heavy finish trigger and the rollingball will end the level. Think of how many seconds you want Lara to fall and create the thing I wrote about here. This is nothingnew, but on this forum for the first time I heard it from Yasin.IP: Logged |

You remember in Tomb Raider 1, in the training level, when Lara asks you to jump for the first time, she doesn't say anything more until you've actually jumped? That's because it's a stacked room, and jumping brings Lara through the floor of the upper room, where the trigger is. Just do this in reverse (ie. a triggered room below where Lara jumps). This way also makes it easier to time the finish before she screams. IP: Logged |

Wow, thanx for the help, I spent all of yesterday ad all of school 2day thinking aobut it, and i came up with these ideas+questions lara wont scream when performing a swan dive, right? the player would of course have to remember not to jump normally however. (BTW im watching the movie right now) i thought that i could have a flyby, showing the jump out of laras eyes (even tho she be way below tyhe camera by then) and have a water room below where lara could fall, and when the camera scene got to a certain point, id put a heavy trigger for the camera to activate to finish the level. also i want to make the area look as detailed and as much like the movie as possible. i spent 10 minutes yesterday to record "Green Destiny" the music that goes along with jens jump in the movie, which will go nicely with tomb raider style. lara will start in a cave, proceed outside to find a gem (gemstone, barkang monestary) then find 5 mystic plaques, to open several sets of doors that lead outside. my current problem is that the hall that goes outsideis at floor 6, and the mountains need to be at 108 to work, and i DO NOT want a big long climb. Any other suggestions? Thanks alot for your help, keep responding. ------------------ Creator of professional levels (: jokami63@aol.com new to the level editor? want new wads, tgas, or sounds? bored with the level editor? do any of these above questions interest you? if so send $5 to jokami63@aol.com lol :) IP: Logged |

AHHHHHHHH! I just made an error when creating the jumping part, all i did was add a top to the temple you come out of, some rooms the connect to the sides, the room you jump from, and one room below it. i was going to output it to test it when i got an evil message my heart sank. fortunately trfix worked, but deleted some of the best and most important rooms, and put all these random triggers all over the place that i cant delete. im totally redoing all the mountain are now ): i will probly spend today finishing it, then the rest of the weekend perfecting it.... TGIF!!! btw, anyone know what rgb setting u think i should put for the fog bulbs? i want like a dark grey but i cant find the manual, and also what should i put for intensity, int, and out settings also, i want thick fog that will fill the room, which will be very big. please respond, i need all the help i can get, i would appreciate any help, and aktrekker etux tomb raider fan tlf for you help your going into my credits level ------------------ Creator of professional levels (: jokami63@aol.com new to the level editor? want new wads, tgas, or sounds? bored with the level editor? do any of these above questions interest you? if so send $5 to jokami63@aol.com lol :) IP: Logged |
