create object in a cad, import the meshes in strpix, and then texturize them.

are you saying in trwest?
You can't create a new slot, but you can move the object into another existing slot.

You can use TRWEST or WADMERGER to make custom wads,so if you wanted Verners glasses in your level you cuold use one of these tools to extract them from the original wad and put them in the one you are using.

You can get TRWEST here,in the 'tools' section:
http://www.tombraider-customlevels.fsnet.co.uk/

You can get WADMEGER here:
http://trwad.8m.com/WADMerger/Index.html

The slots are hard-coded into the game engine, so each can be given custom behavior.
Could have been done other ways, but this is the way Core did it.

Do hold your breath for anything new on the LE to come out, nothing new has come out in such a long time, nothing will come out. If i'm wrong, well then good.

(It's actually core that releases stuff, but eidos hosts it.)
