Today when I was working on my project, I saved it and output it to see if everything was working correctly, somethings were wrong and I went back to the editor to correct it. I loaded the prj and then, five messages saying "Evil: unknown object type", "There are too many lights in room 68" and "Excided Max_objects", and finally, "Illegal operation". After all this, I deleted the wad and reloaded the prj, same thing, so the problem isn't the wad, the prj has some problem. How can I fix this? I've been working on this level for 4 months, so, it would be very anoying to start it all over again. Is there anyway I can fix this? I once heard of a tool called PRJ Fixer, I searched for it in many web sites and didn't find it anywhere. Please help me or else I'm going crazy!8P------------------ Keep visiting Tomb Raider Level Editing: IP: Logged |

You could extract the project out of the TR4 file with TR2PRJ. But I'm not sure whether the textures are extracted correctly. Try!IP: Logged |

Not only the textures but also the lights. It would be like doing lights and texturing from scratch.------------------ Keep visiting Tomb Raider Level Editing: IP: Logged |

I had the EXACT same problem and the way i fixed it was:Go into the :TRLE FAQ and community" and download "TRFIX". That sorts out any errors in your project. Just download it, Unzip it, Open it, Open you PRJ and it will sort every error out. Then you can save it. trust me it works. I had 141 errors in my PRJ, C if u can beat dat? Good Luck IP: Logged |

Time and time again I hear this story, when are you people gonna learn. Save regularly save often. If you do this simple thing, you simple go back to a previous save. Now, how does that go again....... Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Save regularly save often. Right now say it 20 more times till it sinks in.

RR: Secrets Beneath The Streets is saved over 15 times, and the PRJs are named palace.prj, palace2.prj, palace3.prj etc. But there's no palace13.prj; never save a prj with number 13 in it! After you've saved yourlevel12.prj, save yourlevel14.prj. This will make your level safe from other errors. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I save my projects from A to Z behind the projects name. When I come to Z I backup the hole map onto another drive. Then I restart from A to Z again. I only save over an excisting project when I texture. Placing static, light and objects can do the kill. I used this method from the beginning. I had many corrupted projects but they have not beaten me!!! So be more carefull next time. 4 months is too long to loose it!!! Besides that I also reccomend to backup the wad aswell.[This message has been edited by piega (edited 04-06-2002).] IP: Logged |

About the save often thing, the problem was caused when I last saved the project. The TR Fix really worked indeed. It found 360 errors in my project! It corrected many errors, but it also deleted one room, reseted my spot lights and make some pink squares under all the objects and some walls, like they were triggers. How can I put these squares back to their normal?------------------ Keep visiting Tomb Raider Level Editing: IP: Logged |

Sometimes the corruption requires deleting one or more rooms. I remember the first version of TRFix was putting triggers where they don't belong. I thought I had that fixed. Maybe I should send my version to someone for hosting, just in case?

These squares I was talking about aren't triggers, and I found how to get rid of them. I just out put the room wad and they were all gone! The biggest problem of this tool is the lights. It moves some of the lights and resets any spot lights.------------------ Keep visiting Tomb Raider Level Editing: IP: Logged |

I svae each project in it's own map...naming shceme: map001.prj <-intial project map001a map001b <-minor changes Each major changes get a number increse as opposed to a letter... map001c map002 <- major change occured here & I save every 10/15 minutes. Not a bad plan, esp. Seeing as I use Win Multiple Errors.. ------------------
