I ve received a message this morning coming from an unknown sender, gustavo, which contained a dmnd virus. It autoexecuted. I did not open any attachment file. So it seems it sends messages to your entire address catalog, with your name, or with the address catalog members names! I ve seen its name when I received a message from the eidos forum, telling me that I emailed them the virus, which I did not. So it autosends itself... Another friend (from my catalog) said he received two messages from people existent in my catalog only!

Ps - I needed to format the Hd to get rid of it! But don t worry, I m alive and kicking again.

Does anybody know about it or received these messages???

I assume you use OE for email. Try running Windows Update to get the latest security patches. It prevents the autoexecute.
If you do pickup a virus, try going to the Norton website. You can run an online virus scanner for free and it will eliminate the virus. Much faster than reformatting and reloading.
Personally, I keep a backup image of my partitions. All I have to do is boot from the restore floppy and in 20 min I have my machine back the way it was.

Is it the "Klez" one?
Well, I recieved 4 times Satuday, but my antivirus didn't let it autoexecute ("malicious code")

I got an AEV day before yesterday, but since Juno only connects to the internet while actually checking and sending mail, wherever on the internet it tried to download from wouldn't. *whew*

PS - I deleted it, or I'd post the name here.
