My level won't convert when i add certain objects. I got 176 rooms, 212 of 256 objects and 199 of 512 triggers. ( I have 12 out of 16 tiles used in my wad ).ok here what happened. 1). I inserted some skeleton bones and an ahmet into my wad ( No retexturing what so eva ). Bearing in mind i have already inserted the skeletons bones already in my level. I havn't yet to put the ahmet into my level. 2). I create a room ( Like a cage for the ahmet to go in ). I put an Ahmet, An object from the floating island wad ( Works Fine ), A skeletons body and the shatter bones object. 3). Then when i try to convert it, it gives me the usual windows error message and it sends me back to the desktop. 4). I go back into the editor and delete the room i just created ( the ahmet, Bones etc...) and when i try to convert it it works and it also works in the game. 5). So why in the hell does it not work when i create that room that i want to create? Cos it would look really cool with the ahmet in a cage and some bones in there wouldn't it?????? Any ideas why it does that? IP: Logged |

When you output the wad you have no problems right ? But when you got to Tom2pc.exe and convert your tom it gives a Illigal operation right ???????If so, I am sorry to report your wad = corrupted. I am currently working on River of Shama, and i made my own custom wad also with Trwest, the only problem is got is i keep getting illigal error. It seems to affected all my wads which i used for river of shama. So I had to work very carefully to build my wad. Your wad is corupted like mine was. The only solution is, create a new one... or perhaps some other people have better ideas here....80% chance your wad is corrupted. IP: Logged |

Ok i got an idea how to solve it, read this and tell me if it would work.My wad is corrupted so whenever i add a new room it won't convert. Well i have an idea how to fix this. Can't i just create another WAD and start a continuing level. ( When finished the first it would send you to the second level ). Iam pretty sure that would work. If i create a different wad and not use the same one as the first level would that work? Iam pretty sure it wud what do u say about this?????? IP: Logged |

1) Create the extra room, but don't put anything in it. See if it converts. If not, it is not the wad, you have reached some other limit. 2) Add one object at a time to the room until it won't convert. Leave that object in the room and remove any others. See if it converts. If not, it is that object. 3) If you find the object causing the problem, try adding all the others to the room, but leave the bad one out. See if it converts. If not, it is the wad.Try this first, it might save you alot of work. Don't just assume it is the wad. 212 of 256 objects could be a problem depending on how complex the objects in the wad are. You can get alot of textures out of only 12 tiles, but I doubt this is the problem (unless you mean texture pages instead of tiles). 176 rooms leaves lots of room, but it depends on how complex the rooms are. This could be causing problems. IP: Logged | |
