Hi  Do you know that: problems with the WAD, new enemies, changing animations . . .The new possibilities with all the programs, for example TRWEST, WADMerger, TR2WAD, TR2PRJ, StripX, ... (Thank you to all programers )! But sometimes I'd like to be a beginner again . Today it's normal to add objects to your WAD's. Even new enemies are made. But all the problems you sometimes have. When I had read the manual I built levels with original WAD's, sometimes I changed the texture set, but all objects were explained in the manual. But then I got a modem and I found so much tool's and new possibilities. Okay my levels became better but sometimes I'd only like to get rid of all the trouble and to be beginner again . Well I consider myself an old dog at level editing but I still find that when i'm near to completion I start to lose interest. If it wasn't for all these clever people creating third party tools, i'd probably given up ages ago.  IP: Logged |

Most wad problems are caused by the difference between the wad editors. For example, trwest hasn't been updates for almost a year so it isn't compatible with objects from versions other then tr4. And I also didn't make a big update for tr2wad for some time so it's not 100% compatible with the new wadmerger. But beginners mostly have more problems with this. Without these tools you will get boring of trle much faster (any idea why I started wadmerger?)

Yes, I'm also happy that we can do so much now, but for example today I had a problem with converter. The fault was of course in the WAD. Then I always think: If I believed all that you can read in the manual ("You can't edit Lara's oufit, bla bla bla ...") I would have those problems .IP: Logged |

Must be infuriating for people using the MAC editor for who these programs are out of reach. My freind keeps asking me to build WAD files for him, and I have to explain why the Xian from TR2 won't work...You have my sympathy... IP: Logged |

Core never would of known that their TRLE community would grow so large. And we have made so many advancements. At the beginning we couldn't change Lara's outfit, or create custom wads. But now, we can have endless prosibilities with these new tools.IP: Logged |
