.....to build approx 7/8 large[ish] outdoor rooms, with lots of little hidey holes, detail, etc...think India in TR3, using India texture set, strangely enough!
If anyone is willing to build, or already has some - perhaps from one of your own levels, I would really like to pinch them from you, as I really want to create some outdoor space, but SUCK at it!!!! it never looks organic, & I can never texture it right either!!
I can build indoor stuff great- just need ourdoor!

If anyone is willing to help please drop me a line/send me prj. files whatever :

chrishilditch@hotmail.com

Thank you and goodnight!

Well..... I am currently working on my own levels they are outside/indoor area's
Creating outside area's is the toughest thing in LE, since we cant shape everything smooth we have to use alot of clicking. Mostly I use the Ctrl button to model my floor like hills, you know the ctrl button ( diagnal arrow on floor square )

But sad enough I cant give them, it will take me alot of time to delete the rooms + I need to send you my wad/texture set and prj.

You have to use your imagination, really... just looking at a blank prj wont help you much I think, dont know...

I dont know if these pic will help you to see the way things been constructed, the shape, stacked rooms, outside areas are defintly mostly stacked rooms since you cant create 1 outdoor place from 1 room, impossible cause you will get stretched everything...

Geckokid

Yes 1 light, I am a strange person, I dont use often suns cause they are hard to set up to create a real outside enviroment, since the one side of the sun is shadow and the otherside is the light it looks like there isnt enough light, but supose I want to create a noon level. The sun is high in sky, then it must give light almost to all. So I use light bulb and set the range very high, and creating a sun effect, All holes, gaps, other things receive a shadow, so I dont even have to use shadow bulbs. But normally for more complicated area's I use sun and lights more often

Amazing Yasin, simply awe-inspiring

Oh right, about your request deviant, I'm relatively experienced with this environment, the most difficult to produce, and most time-consuming, most light work, most detail on texture; but I think it could take me three days to do it, hmm... unfortunately I have three levels to complete now and three after that, one of them with such work involved, sorry

One tip though, try to avoid flat walls at the edge of your jungle area, try to roll or contour the hills into a high horizon, so the edge can't be seen, like with TR5 Ireland.

Good luck

Thank you Justin,

3 levels you planning to make ?? Yes alot of work, currently I am working on 4 levels.

And your very right about the outside area's, create some kind of hills and not walls, I recently discovered that towards end of my previous serie levels. And It does give superb effect.

Thanx $ all the help & sugg. eveyone, I HAVE tried to do out door rooms honestly!!!
I've had the LE since release and still can't do them - well not to my satisfaction anyway, and have had to give up on a few levels I'd started because of this.
Thanx again.....if anyone still wants to help I appreciate it!

Deviant yes, Madubu George type level currently I am working on,

Got the textures using Tr2wad, then used Texture edit to create my texture set.
And my textures animate.

about the waterfall, your not animating, Are you using quarter tile textures ? 4 textures 32x32 in 1 64x64 ???
I bet it is...

Create a stand alone room in your 2d map, about 4 clicks high, 2x1 square, ( to keep space open for other rooms ) Then apply each 64x64 quarter tile in this room. Just the entire 64x64, after you put all 8 in this room then set animation range and your done, in editor they wont animate, in game they will
