Howdy Pardners... I played a level a while ago (by Harly Wuson) and the author had the water seem to be going up and down like real water should (not just the ordinary ripple effect). Can some one tell me how this is done as it looked really effective....BillyIP: Logged |

Well Billy, Ordinary Water Ripple..... As far as I know, The water can go up and down using W button, 1-4 sets the "wave" behavior 1 = almost no wave 2 = gentle waves 3 = rough waves 4 = even more If thats what you mean... IP: Logged |

doesn't the water button set the consistency of the water? when i use 4 it is really hard to swim in.... almost like the mud/quicksand in TR3... but it doesnt suck you down... it just takes a long time to get somewhere... but maybe it has something to do with the waves too... IP: Logged |

Howdy Friend Yasin... Yep!!! I reckon that's it all right!!! I've only experienced the quieter ripple effect that you get when you just add the animated water squares. I had'nt realised you could really rough the water up like that. Muchos Gracias..... BillyIP: Logged |

Obses,You might be correct, in real life you cant also swim that good in High waves. Still water is easy to swim in, good notice, Billy, your welcome Btw, we can create suckdown effects, everyone knows it "sinks" But we cant create mud/swamp, thats a different way, and the mud from tr3 has light waves, well you can create for enviromental mud Simply a room where lare can wade trough with W=1, but not the real drown effect Even I have trouble with my level, i dont have the drowning death as in Madubu George, so lara burns in my level instead IP: Logged |

Uh OH!!!! It appears ol' Billy yelled too loud too soon. I'm sorry to tell you friend Yasin but what you said does'nt work (I've just tried it ). When you press the W ;it transforms were ever Lara is to an underwater situation. For example, I have Lara stood on a sandy shore...go into TRLE press 'W' go back into the game and Lara's still on the shore but it has now become underwater. So I guess there has to be more to it than that. I'm still open to suggestions???? Billy.IP: Logged |

wait a minute, what you mean "sand shore"ofcourse its water, what elese did you expect, you need to stack 2 rooms together... The room beneith contains the W-2 for example, the room above is the surface, press R button ( reflection light effect ) Now create a slope from the underwater to the ceiling of the room above, then hop to room above and finish the slope, there..... a shore, now if Lara walks in the water she will splash a little, then the further you go the deeper she will go in water until going in swim positions, you cant just apply water on anysurface water rooms are always 2 rooms connected, Surface + Water room IP: Logged |

Yep... already done all that, and yes that includes the two room thing, It explains all this in the manual, the question was when Lara is stood on the shore and looks out over the surface of the water instead of a calm sea view ol' Harly in his level had the surface bobbin' up and down???? that's what I'm curious about.... I can get Lara to swim underwater no problem but when she comes to the surface, it's flat!!! BillyIP: Logged |

I have no idea if this effects your problem, but when you make the water surface, press Toggle Opacity2 from the top room, not the water room. Opacity from beneath won't create waves.IP: Logged |

If you want water in a level so Lara can swim in it then yes, there are certain steps required to do this. The point is being missed pardners... I know how to make water... I've already done all this in the two levels I did 'Solomon's etc... and The Well of Lost Souls'.... what I need to know is how do you get a water surface to act like a choppy sea rather than being flat???? No billy you dont understand it still...... sigh..... Look down here... As you can see 2 stacked rooms...... the upper room has R-3 reflection effect and the room beneith has W-2, The room beneith will not only create water effect but also make the water wave Ingame the water will go up and down, not in editor..... Als notice the slope running like a shore. ------------------ The best thing and last thing is to try ( ^_^ )=b IP: Logged |

Er...I don't no how to say this but after the tremendous effort you went to help me friend Yasin but it's still not happening. Before you start to think ol' Billy has lost it I have to tell you I made up my own room (like yours), copied exactly your set up... but, all that is happening is when I go in game.... where Lara is standing on the edge of a sea there is a reflection from the water on the sand?????. The manual even says that if you want reflection then you must do what I've done, which is what you have done... I stll aint got no choppy sea....which is what this is all about. BillyIP: Logged |

You also need to have more than 1 tile wide for the waves to function.IP: Logged |
