I started trying to create a level, but I dont know how to put texture for the floor or load objects. It says that there is an error, and I cannot place doors. Can someone please help me?------------------ **~~Of all the the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.~~** IP: Logged |

hiya Lara, welcome to the forums and level editing! A good thing to do is have the manual open in Adobe Acrobat reader, whilst you're creating a room. That really helped me, I followed the tutorial within the manual and experimented with the tutorial level. When you're editing a room, just click on the button below the main window that says "apply textures", choose a texture from the tga on the right and apply it to the wall, ceiling or floor etc. When you load a project like tut1, you also load the object WAD (tut1 wad). Since I'm sort of a beginner myself, it might be better for someone more experienced to explain things better (I'm crap at explaining as well lol). IP: Logged |

I would suggest reading the manual first as it covers all these topics. it's long, boring, and hard to understand at times, but atleast you'll know more of what you are doing. quote: Originally posted by litepulsar: ...just click on the button below the main window that says "apply textures",
That would be 'face edit' ------------------ Visit my site! Sign my guestbook! [This message has been edited by Tomb_Raider_Nut (edited 04-30-2002).] IP: Logged |

I think I figured it out. I've been trying to read the manual (having a hard time on 1024x780 or whatever.) It's SO tiny! My printer is being dumb so I cant print it out. Thanks anyway!------------------ **~~Of all the the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.~~** IP: Logged |

lol thanks TR Nut....whoops! too much coffee, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.Lara, I know it's boring but persevere, it'll be well worth it when you see the results of something you created. I bored the *** off of everyone by nagging them to come to my room and look at my own mini-level and stargate, I was so chuffed with myself IP: Logged |

Lara, did you try magnifying the text? There's a little window in the bottom left corner of the screen in adobe that allows you to set the magnification.IP: Logged |

Yay! I made my first room! It's dumb, but it's a start. All it is is a few blocks w/textured walls and floors. (And a couple of holes.) Does anyone know where I can find any extra textures? I'm getting kinda bored w/ the ones I have. Thanx!------------------ **~~Of all the the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.~~** IP: Logged |
