I have tried, tried and tried again, but to no avail. I'm designing another playable character, but her facial features are quite different to Lara's. But I'm just no good at getting the right eye and lip shape, so I was wondering if anyone knows someone who would be able to help me with this? I would really appreciate any help.

You would need to just modify her existing eyes and lips. That is because her textures are created especially to fit onto her polygons. You can make a new texture, but i has to be similar to lara's for it to texture correctly.

thanks Larz, yeah I just sort of thought of that only now lol, looking at her polygons in wire mesh mode! I'll just change the eyes, lips and hair colours. Maybe make the mouth a teeny weeny bit longer, so it fits ok

I have another problem with Lara's head, this time the dxf object, I deleted her bun and added a new face to the hole where her bun used to be, it imported ok and textures ok, but all the faces are different shapes. I was wondering if Netslider or Tr_Nut could tell me what I've done wrong.

Don't ask me. I don't know a thing about 3D editing. I only experience is in building levels, making ouftits, wads and texture sets.

Did you follow the import/export instructions on Turbo's site, so the dxf will be the right size?

Oops. Never mind. If you want to add a bun painlessly just download the messy bun mesh from tommy's site: http://www.angelfire.com/mi4/laras_wardrobe/

And retexture the little spikes of hair, the sunglasses and the chocksticks. purple so it won't show up in the game. Then, you'll have a bun!

Like this:

don't forget to get the tiny pontail meshes so the bun will work correctly.

Larz, that's cool! Though I want her bun removed, which I've succeeded in doing, I've also created the hair, yay go me! I followed Turbo's instructions on import/export, as above, all meshes are there, but they're all the wrong way, so I can't texture her properly. Thanks anyway mate!

If the meshes are the wrong way just make sure they are in the exact same position as the original mesh. If you are changing her head, make sure the new here is face the same way, at the exact same place.

I assume you know about the invert face option right?

if you are using Lightwave 5, saving dxfs will break quads into triangles, that's why the textures are incorrect. and if you use Lightwave 7, saving dxfs requires you to rotate the mesh 90 degrees on the ..... er i forget Y or Z axis and flip the faces everytime. And dunno if it's only me or not, the textures are all gone. Yeah I know it is annoying, but having quads in a mesh is much easier to texture so I'd prefer lightwave 7.

Dunno which 3D program you are using, but this is just my sharing. hope it helps at least a little bit.

I'm using Metasequoia, Geckokid, I followed Turbo's instructions on his website. You swap the yz axis on importing and invert faces, on exporting you swap yz axis, uncheck invert faces and check "triangles have four points". I also used the correct values as well. I tried experimenting just importing and exporting Lara's head without any modifications, using the above, and it still went all funny. Maybe it's the wad. I mean, it can't go like that just rotating the object in a cad program can it? Thanks anyway!
