... don't seem to like each other. I have found that if I add a texture to a wad with Wadmerger and then use TRWest, on saving the wad it crashes. The main reason I use TRWest is that you can transfer an object to a different slot whereas with Wadmerger you can only add it in the same slot - or am I wrong? IP: Logged |

TRWest isn't compatible with the newest features of wadmerger. I'll maybe add a function to change the slot somewhen.IP: Logged |

I always ask me: Why aren't the two programs compatible. I mean, the WAD files have their formats and the format has to be right to use the WAD in TR. So, why are they not compatible, because the programs work with files with the same format?IP: Logged |

Well, is it only me or does anyone else find WADMERGER V.difficult to use and crashes constantly?? I mean it is clearly a great prog. but so is TRWest, and of the 2 I find TRWest the best.....it is much easier to use, so really erm....i dont actually know what i was originally trying to say xcept they r both great utilities with great features of their own oh yeah!! What if you guys were to team up and pool your knowhow to create the ultimate all-singing - all dancing TRWadmerger??? with all of the features and none of the downfalls?? What do you think?? Who else would like to see this?? IP: Logged |

Me!I also use TRWEST to add objects to my WAD's. But WADMerger is a good tool because it fixes the anim dispatches, so I can delete all objects I don't need in the WAD. And the editors from WADMerger are also great. I have many problems with WADMerger, too (always "Laufzeitfehler 9"). But it must work . . . IP: Logged |

Well that got a good response! Yes I agree Deviant, all the programmers should pool their knowledge but if I remember correctly I think someone said the creator of TRWest, Michael Jelacic has not updated his site or TRWest for a long time so perhaps he has lost interest - does anyone know differently? Good news: I fixed 50% of these errors yesterday so wait for the next version. About the not compatibly: wadmerger has more features like adding objects from tr games other then tr4. These have a bit differend format that trwest doesn't regonizes.
And because the creator of TRWest isn't here I can't ask him why trwest doesn't regonize my wads. IP: Logged |

WadMerger is a great tool if it's not too finicky on what wad it can load! I get error most of the time, so I end up using WadMerger only as visual aid to see the object and its corresponding name and then using TrWest to add that object to my wad!Even when I succeeded building a wad with WadMerger, the output level plays jerky as if some animation frames were missing! Anyone got that problem? and what should I do to correct it? IP: Logged |

unfortunately, Michael appeares to have vanished from our Gaia.... his site has been down for ages and his mail-box is probably more stuffed than a turkey at Christmas time ------------------ Peace is but a shadow of death, desperate to forget it's painful past... Though we hope for promising years, after shedding a thousand tears, yesterday's sorrow constantly nears. And while the moon still shines blue, by dawn, it will turn scarlet hue. IP: Logged |

That's a shame - wonder what happened to him? Anyway I'm getting error messages with Wadmerger now - the good old Run-time error 9 subscript out of range one which I think someone else has mentioned recently, only with mine it's when I save the wad. I have used Wadmerger on it before though and it's been OK. Does anyone know what this error message means? IP: Logged |

Oh right - Laufzeitfehler 9 = run time error 9? Sorry I didn't make the connection (and my knowledge of German is zero!). Anyway, if you have an updated Wadmerger on the way, that IS good news! IP: Logged |
