I am surprised that TR5 and the level editor are also included on the German TR DVD!! Wow But how do I run the movie on a PC? Its PAL (region2) I only get fuzz on the screen (but with the correct sound). I am in Japan which is NTSC but does that have anything to do with playing it on a PC? ?? MIRAI

oooppsss, cannot help you! But I congratulate with you for the DVD I received it too, but I haven't opened its box because I want to keep it as an ancient artefact, LOL (I am crazy, I know) Anyhow, can't wait for your next levels, can you give a date for them? I know this is off your DVD topic, but I can't resist to ask IP: Logged |

well its annoying... I've been adding things here and there whenever I get the chance... but jobs keep getting in the way...The Tokyo city level is getting as big as the real thing...but there is no game in it as yet... I need some bad guys. Anyone fixed up the TR2 Italian mafia yet...? (so I can alter them to Yakuza) pe@ce MIRAI IP: Logged |

Whether it is PAL or NTSC shouldn't matter on a PC. USA is also NTSC but we can't play Japanese DVDs. The problem is the region code programmed into the DVD drive. It's that <bleep> MPAA that just wants more of your money. You have 3 choices. 1) Change the region code on your DVD drive. But you will have to change it back for other movies, and you can only change it 5 times before you must send it back to the manufacturer to be reset. 2) Get a second DVD drive and set it to a different region code. 3) Buy a DVD drive from Australia, where it is against the law to sell an unhacked drive. Go figure. In Australia, all DVD drives MUST be able to play all region codes. Unless the law changed recently.Actually there is a 4th (and 5th) option, but we won't get into that. Oops! Just remembered that Japan is the same region code as Europe. Please ignore the above. Sounds like either your DVD player software doesn't handle the European format (if it doesn't, trash it and get something else - I've had problems with PowerDVD, if that is what you are using), or you have a bad DVD. I'm using the ATI DVD player software that came with my AIW card, and I've never had a problem, except for a couple of DVDs that were corrupt and the drive couldn't recognize them.

thanks for the big advice.Yes, its POWERDVD software. The other 2 discs work, but the movie is just FUZZ. eek. I'll test it on someone elses. I hope it isn't a dead DVD, as I don't know how to change it!?! pe@ce MIRAI IP: Logged |
