Hi
Are there custom skies that I can download? Or is it a gap in the market?

I've got an idea for a sky (I will make it): Black, only with stars.

Search in TRWad's search engine. You'll find an horizon made by me if you perform an object search.

There´s a quick and easy way to make black sky with stars, since it does not need moving clouds. As Core did in the "Temple of the Cat" level of TR1 Gold.

You simply rise your ceiling high enough... Or add another room above the higher room you´re working on, and make it bigger than the room below so the sky will look authentic... Take care of the borders of your "horizon room" too... Make the cailing of this high "sky" room like a dome... Then apply black sky textures with little white stars to it... Randomly... You can find the original Temple of the Cat black-sky-with-stars textures at Driber´s site ...

With this technique, you can use WADs with no horizon nor sky, enabling you to make bigger rooms and avoid the annoying 20 square limit, and of course make huge "outside" areas, as the distant tiles fade into darkness...

Hope this helps...

Oh...

If you want to improve the effect, you´ll need an image editing software. Make copies of the "black sky with stars" texture tile in your TGA file, and change the size of the stars (slightly) for each tile, little ones for the first tile, a little bigger for the second, then bigger for the third, then make them progressively smaller again for the next tiles. I think six tiles will do the job. Then put them side by side in the TGA file and save it. Then, in the editor, set your animation ranges and aplly the textures randomly to the ceiling sqaures of your "sky" room. The stars will shine smoothly in movement, creating an interesting effect.

ps. I think the original "Temple of the Cat" TGA file has some tiles ready for action, as I´ve edited it for Driber´s site. But I remember that the sequence is made of 3 or 4 tiles maximum.
