G'day,
I have a few problems as well as a few questions to do with my 1st ever level that I have been making.
Here are the Problems and Questions;
1:- Whenever I play the map, I have noticed that when Lara lights a Flare in some rooms it do'es not glow and stays black untill she throws it away, and then sometimes it will still stay black??

2:-In some of the stacked rooms where I have used Lighting and shadow effects Lara somtimes gets a strange fluroescent fliker when she passes through certain areas, is there a reason for this?

3:- I have just about used all the allocated objects I can, 245 of 256 and have noticed that some of the Flame emiter2's in the earlier rooms that are revisited, that they have gone out, is this because I used to many Flame emitters and objects?

4:- When lara falls from a height of more than 8 or so blocks onto spikes or into lava she uses the Broke all the bones in my body animation instead of being impaled or catching on fire, is this normal or am I missing something?

5:- How do I get the spikes to make a sound when they come out, or the spiked balls to make a rolling or crashing noise? even a splash as a boulder falls in to water?

6:- How do I take a screenshot of my Leval?

7:- Should I submit a Walkthrough of my leval?

8:-If I use a Custom WAD how should I submit a Leval?

9; If I raise or lower the floor or ceiling more than 8 clicks, can I bring up another line like I do with the E,D,R or F keys?

Well thats about all I can think of right now I hope I dont appear to nosey, I look foward to hearing your replies

the reason that the flare doesn't work is because there is a limit to how many flame emitters you can place in a level. if you put more than the maximum the flares don't work properly. I think the limit is about 30. it might be the reason the flame emitter2's go out as well.

I think the ' button saves pics (it's in the manual somewhere)

5. The spikes and the rolling balls DO have sound with them. If yours don't work ... I don't know. No idea

6. It's been awhile since the last time I played Tomb Raider. But I think you can get the screenshot by pressing ". It works best (for me) in 800 x 600 resolution.

7. Walkthrough? I personally made one. It's up to you, but it might be necessary if your level is not very straight forward, i.e.: you need to go back and forth.

As explained by craziej2k.

This generally occurs when bulb meshes overlap.

I believe so. Perhaps you could strategically use 'kill all triggers' at certain points in you level.

Some spikes do not use the impailed animation, however I believe it is usual.

5:- How do I get the spikes to make a sound when they come out, or the spiked balls to make a rolling or crashing noise? even a splash as a boulder falls in to water?

I believe that this varies from keyboard layout, however mine functions by the use of the '@' key.

7:- Should I submit a Walkthrough of my level?

This is always helpful.

8:-If I use a Custom WAD how should I submit a Level?

It is thought that 'zipping' all files is the acceptable format.

9; If I raise or lower the floor or ceiling more than 8 clicks, can I bring up another line like I do with the E,D,R or F keys?

It is best to experiment, but generally if you lower or raise a floor/ceiling you get an extra line. If planned carefully you should be able to get at least 5 lines, however I have not acheived more than this myself.

if you imported the spikes and the ball into you wad, the corresponding sounds in SOUNDS.TXT are probably not enabled:
TEETH_SPIKE and 2 ROCK_FALL_s
see the manual for datails
i think there is no splashing sound

6 month ago i didn't even know custom levels.
now i've made 2 of them (see the hp)
maybe my little knowledge can be of some use sometimes.

5) The problem with the sounds is definitely using a custom wad without rebuilding the SFX and SAM files. For a custom wad, you are responsible for ensuring that all required sounds are enabled in sounds.txt.

9) You only get 4 lines to split up your walls for textures. It doesn't matter how high your room is. The project file is incapable of handling more textures than that on a single wall.
Remember that if you are doing the walls on the gray blocks, or on wall blocks, you can also adjust the floor and ceiling.

i think there is no splashing sound


Forget the sounds.txt. Use the sound maneger from wadmerger. Just select the sound and it will be added. Goes much faster.
