Does anyone know what is happening here:

I started tomb4, and the game works perfectly fine (without patches). But, when I get to a certain point, a death blue screen is displayed and I was able to catch a glimpse at a line. It was written: 'Bump Physical Memory' Afterwards, the computer restarts by itself. I've downloaded the patch, but it still doesn't work. Anyone know how to solve this?

Try executing the application without bump mapping first, it may have something to do with your video card or card/drivers.

Just found out yesterday that this only happens when Lara shoots with the normal, unlimited-bullet gun.

How do you execute without the bump mapping? Besides, the levels work when I still have Windows 98 installed, so I don't think there is any problem with my video card.

Windows 98 and XP use different device drivers. It could work on one but not the other.
To turn off bump mapping, go thru the start menu to Set Up Tombraider. This is the audio/video setup program, and you can turn off bump mapping.

Nope ... it doesn't work. But I just noticed that it was DUMP physical memory, and not BUMP physical memory.

This also happens when Lara enters water (dunno about swimming) and when a Lightning (The one in Temple of Karnak) is triggered. My friend identify this as a loop problem. Anyone know anything about it?

You might try updating the drivers for your video card AND sound card.

I do have the same problem with Windows XP : It works fine until Lara has to use its standard pistols. As soon as she use it,
the computer crash with the blue "Windows death screen", even with Bump Mapping off.
(I did not try yet to disable sound : This may "solve" the problem).
Microsoft is supposed to issue "Service Pack 1" for XP before end of 2002.
This bug does not occur with Windows 95.
