A strange bug has appeared. !!!!!!!!!


When Lara is swimming in a certain water tunnel, another Lara swims the other way and they pass and wave (no they don't wave - just a little joke) - shes even wearing the same outfit.


I have not put 2 Laras in the level and there are no mirror features and anything not "normal" and it only happens in the one room.

As its in water its a bit difficult to see how long it lasts for, cos Lara drowns if I hang arround too long as its near the end of a long swim.


There are 78 rooms so far of which about 10 are water rooms.

And also there is a "stick" stuck in my sky in one room - its not there in the editor but appears when the game is run.

I'm using a modified coatal wad - dog from seth sas and sentry gun from city plus some plants from cleo wad all made with TRWest and includes Litepulsars SG1 outfit, which, by the way, looks really good in a castle level,

Help with my bugs if poss please.

Try typing DOZY (press and hold) in on your keyboard, this will allow you not to die (except by bolders).
could you post a screenshot or two of the lara twins passing each other? (take screenshots by pressing the little '" button) if you don't know how to upload them, send them to me so that i can post 'em. trnut86@wi.rr.com

OK on their way - not got a site for TRLE yet, not actually finished a level as such. But hope to get this one online soon - bugs permitting.

The stick, by the way, seems to be part of the horizen as its out of the room. Odd

Somebody made a level with this in it. Not sure what they did to make it possible, but it really freaked me out when a Lara ran past me in the opposite direction. I think there was water involved in that one, but it was a pool in the room where the double was.

Have you modified the Script.txt? There is a line called "Mirror" there. You need to remove it, AND update the script.dat.

Here are the pics.... did you actually swim past the lara? i tried to do that once, but she (the 'twin') disappeared after i passed the mirror.

If you put the mirror line in the wrong place then Lara will just keep on running. Can you post us your script because I would bet good money that you have a mirror line in there.

No I have definately not done anything to the script file. Suppose it could have corrupted itself.


Anyway I've deleted the room and built a replacement and it was still the same, so I've now changed it to normal room but have yet to test it. I'll have a look at the script later (not that I know what I'm doing with it) and see if it says mirror or anything.


Its very very odd

The pics where a sequence check the length of the blue swim bar for reference. Lara swam upto herself, past herself and then kept on swimming.


Here is the script file - I've not done anything to it myself. So.......... anyone know what to do cos there does appear to be a mirror entry. Do I just delete it?

HA! HA! - It all becomes clear (as mud)

Presuming that the line in script for mirror means room 69 then that is the bug as the room that has the twin is room 69.

Have I (we) inadvertantly discovered a new element to the game.

It would seem that putting this line in the script should allow anyone to have twins in their level.

Anyone want to test this theory?

Actually, yes we have tested it and it is the mirror room. there's even a thing in the manual on how to.... but it's a bit confusing.

UPDATE -----

Changed room to ordinary room and the Lara's twin is no more.

Castle Malvernia is now finished except for final bug finding, music and pickups evaluation, theres too much stuff at the moment, can't make it too easy.
