I tried to open one of my old projects and it lets roomedit crash! I used trfix and it keeped crashing! Not that I need the project, but someone asked for it.

Check if the project file is write-protected (right-click then properties).

it's not.

but I opened it anyway. If I first load the textures and wad and then the project it seems to work (dunno why it works then)

Probably the texture location on your computer changed.

The texture file moving shouldn't crash the editor. It should come up and give you an error.
