It can't, it is used in the cutscene where Lara is digging.

ya remember you never actually get to see her dig, the cutscene only shows the start and end, similar to the animating objects of race for the iris, used for a cutscene, but cant be used otherwise

Seems that you are right, IT IS POSIBLE THE MESH SWAP.

I guy called carlos de la calle found the swap-mesh command in the ANIM COMMANDS section (can be edited with trviewer) and he made a litle test level (but it's a tr3 level) and i guess that this command is also availible for tr4 and TRc, i remember in the young lara level when she found the backpack, i think that a mesh swap was done there.

I am studing this, we are hoping that this command can be also added to the floor data,

stay tuned.

Turbo Pascal.

Wasn't it proposed awhile back that the BODYBAG trigger might do this? Did anyone persue this further?

this would be a big breakthrough if it could be used However it does make you wonder what the bodybag and combat trigger are used for maybe someone will figure this out its good to know that someone is studying this topic.

It may be possible that the bodybag trigger is used for this and in the field besides the trigger is were you specify which meshswap will be used .

thanks

that was a good trap, keep em coming

i had a funny puzzle, no traps involved, with a hall with a flipmap, lara would see an artifact on a pedastal in front of her, then the artifact would dissapear, and another pedastal would show up behind her and dissapear when she got close enough, this was an annoying puzzle

Or even better, place a trapdoor or hammer in front of the artifact. Artifact collectors will then forget to jump and will fall into a pit or get smashed flat. Bwahahaha...!

months ago I suggested that the bodybag trigger was used by the original tr4 game when young lara croft rescued her backpack and wore it: a short cutscene showed her wearing it, but in the game the level was always the same, just her body was flipped into the one with a packpack.

If you look at the wad with strpix, you find both the bodies: with and without the packpack for young lara

I could be wrong, but this could be something realy near to what body trigger does: tell the original game to flip young lara's body, and this could have been taken away in the trle version of the exe...

Was it really taken away, or do we just not know how to use it?

Does meshswap work with other things besides Lara? Because in Angkor Wat there is a meshswap1 for Von Croy.

Yes, it will work with other movables, and maybe statics, but i'm not sure (about statics).

I tried Turbo's tutorial level for mesh swap, and it worked correctly when i played it a couple of times. But this one time i played it, i had just activated meshswap, then i start jumping around and flipping, climbing on things etc. And this is what suddenly popped up:

Yes, it happen to me too but for Tr4 levels, in tr3 the meshes can be swaped back safelly, but for tr4 using the swap command more that one time over Lara produce that ugly effect; that is why is said to use a anumation that can be executed only once in the whole level.

In the example that i gave the swap command was added to the "pull switch" animation, to the "flares" animation and to the "stand on hand" animation.

Severals other movables use his own mesh swaps Id, and they are hardcoded in that way in the slot so they don't use the "all porpuse" swap_meshX method.

Static mesh can't be swaped cose they don't have animation where to add the swap command.

tp.
