G'day,
I have been trying to script a custom WAD file so I can add it as an extra level so I can play and edit it as well as keeping the original levels supplied with the editor.

Well here is what I did as well and what happened.

First I used the Trwest program and modified the settomb.WAS, by adding in 4 new badguys from the enemywad.WAS and changed nothing else. I saved it as hell.WAS and Hell.TWS,and placed them both in the trle\graphics\wads folder.

Then I opened up the Script.txt in the trle\script folder, and copied and pasted the settomb block to the bottom of the list and renamed it to hell, reset the load camera coordinates and changed the Data name to Hell like so.

Name= Hell
Puzzle= 1,Eye Of Horus, $0017,$0500,$0000,$0000,$0000,$0002
PuzzleCombo= 1,1,Eye Piece, $0017,$0500,$0000,$0000,$0000,$0002
PuzzleCombo= 1,2,Eye Piece, $0017,$0500,$0000,$0000,$0000,$0002
Puzzle= 2,The Timeless Sands, $0018,$0300,$0000,$0000,$0000,$0002
PuzzleCombo= 3,1,Cartouche Piece 1, $0000,$0400,$0000,$0000,$0000,$0002
PuzzleCombo= 3,2,Cartouche Piece 2, $0000,$0400,$0000,$0000,$0000,$0002
Puzzle= 3,Ba Cartouche, $0000,$0400,$0000,$0000,$0000,$0002
Puzzle= 4,Ra Cartouche, $0000,$0400,$0000,$0000,$0000,$0002
Puzzle= 7,Guardian Key, $0009,$0300,$0000,$0000,$0000,$0002
LoadCamera= 0,0,0,0,0,0,255
LoadCamera= 65039,-2904,61028,65030,-2657,62360,20
Level= DATA\HELL,107

then I opened the english script and add Hell to the level list after eye of horus,without deleteing anything else, then I run the Bat thingie and move the newly created files to the main directory.

Now when I boot the game and it gets to the main menu's, both in and out of the game, the text appear's as nothing other than a line of single letters runing fom top to bottom, where say the level names are on the main menu and in the inventory and options list in game???

What have I done wrong, or is there a limit to the No. of levels I can have?

Helllppppp meeeee pleeeese.

Cheers in advance

Cyas

Thi has happened because you are not allowed to add any new lines to the english text file. You have to take out one of the existing levels that you are not currently using and replace it with your new one. That is what is making your text appear funny, it also does that if your level name is different to the one you have entered in the script file. Hope this helps.
