How about making a little team with ALL programmers in it? Then we can make even better tools. If you like this, mail me at trwad@hotmail.com with the languages you know (c++, vb, delphi) and the file formats you are good in (wads, prj, levels). And of course members can ask for what they like to have for tools by replying here. Simple enough about those WAD or level files: they are binay files known as ASE files (also known as chunky) where a reader for that type of file has to start at the beginning and pick up each block of data according to its type and the stated number of data block of that type. Go to www.watsit.org for file type description. They can have any extension you want. Pickup the Rosetta document for detailled description of level file structure and this group will point you to the WAD format itself.[This message has been edited by Number6 (edited 06-26-2002).] [This message has been edited by Number6 (edited 06-26-2002).] IP: Logged |

I can add alot of info for TR4 version files. I haven't decoded everything, but I had to figure out alot of it for TR2Prj, mainly stuff about the rooms. I still have cameras and a few other things I haven't looked at, but I have quite a bit. I've been thinking of updating TRosetta Stone. Anyone want to coordinate on this?
